Acting To Heal:
Autobiographical Therapeutic Performance

This 12 week workshop invites you to create and perform your own original piece, crafted from the raw material of your life. Guided in a supportive, creative space, you’ll transform personal experiences into powerful performance, blending honesty, artistry, and imagination.

At the end of the journey, you’ll step on stage and share your piece with a live audience—an act of courage, creativity, and transformation.

You’ll gain:

  • A completed self-created 20-30 minute performance piece

  • Tools for effective storytelling, improvisation, and performance-making

  • A sense of agency in your ability to create a shift in perspective

  • Greater sense of confidence and worthiness

  • Deeper self-understanding of harmful patterns

  • The courage to be fully seen and heard as your authentic self

  • A supportive community of fellow explorers and a sense of belonging

Your guide, Lara Gold will support you every step of the way—helping you transform your lived experiences into a powerful, original performance. Through a blend of expressive arts including writing prompts, improvisational exercises, role play, and movement, I’ll guide you in discovering the story you’re ready to tell and the most authentic way to bring it to life on stage. Together, we’ll shape your raw material into a performance piece that reflects your truth while honoring your unique artistic voice.

You’ll be held in a supportive, nonjudgmental space where vulnerability becomes strength, and performance becomes transformation.

*A brief interview with the facilitator will be required to register
